Social Media Posts

As the Night and Weekend Editor at GameZone, not only did I contribute to the daily news feed, I regularly wrote short-form social media posts on Facebook and Twitter, promoting articles, editorials, and reviews as well as the brand of the platform itself. Social posts were a way for readers to actively (and sometimes aggressively) engage in discussions about our content, by posing thoughts or questions that supplemented the article being shared. 

This involved finding the right balance between covering proper key words, while maintaining a casual and personable tone to help relate to the readership. GameZone's main source of traffic was Facebook, as we were hard pressed to be found via organic searches on Google, so I learned to maintain a strong social media presence for the business.

We also used Twitter to help supplement the influx of traffic, so learning which hashtags to use when was something I quickly learned on the fly.
